Francisco Vélez, who since 2010 has lived in this magnificent property in Altos de Las Palmas, Envigado, assures that this area is one of the most exclusive in Medellín and the country. For him, it has been a privilege to live in it and share unforgettable and happy moments with his family all these years.

Francisco remembers that when they had just moved into this house, there were a few vacant areas, so the family continued to add these spaces gradually until they achieved the house's appearance and functions. Then, they built the parking lot, the gym, the billiards area, the terrace, and the spa area, which includes a swimming pool, steam room, and jacuzzi. “We are a huge family, I have eight siblings, and my parents are very long-lived; my father, for example, is 101 years old. And definitely, the most significant moments for me are those we live with our family, which is why it is so valuable for us to share them in our home”.
He enjoys many spaces in his house; when he invites friends, they share enjoyable moments around the house's amenities, especially in the billiards room and the spa area. The terrace is also a space that has a beautiful landscape, where, as Francisco says, “You can drink coffee and have good conversations while you enjoy the view.”
On the other hand, “The forest surrounding where we live allows us to have the best weather; the altitude of the Hacienda is 2,600 meters - it is at the same level as the city of Bogotá -. So, naturally, it is cold but easy to handle. The hacienda has many springs and there are several creeks. There is a lot of fauna, like squirrels and species of birds; the most common is the mockingbird. In the morning, when you get up and go out, the only thing you find is a concert of birds.”

Francisco Vélez, quien desde el 2010 vive en esta majestuosa propiedad ubicada en Altos de Las Palmas, Envigado, asegura que esta zona es de las más exclusivas de Medellín y del país. Para él ha sido todo un privilegio habitar en ella y compartir momentos inolvidables y felices junto a su familia durante todos estos años.
Una de las características que destaca Francisco de esta casa es la unidad cerrada en la que se encuentra: Hacienda Arrayanes. A sólo 25 minutos de Medellín, facilmente accesible a las infraestructuras más cercanas. Esta propiedad esta rodeada de árboles nativos de muchos años, cuenta con tanques de agua propia y tiene entre 7 y 8 km de vías para caminar y hacer ejercicio sin ningún riesgo. Un refugio accesible.
Es claro que quienes viven aquí, se encuentran en una zona segura y llena de aire puro. “Estamos a las afueras de la ciudad, por lo que estamos alejados del bullicio, la inseguridad, el tráfico, entre otros factores que pueden ser no muy positivos. Pero también si es el caso, estamos a solo minutos manejando para disfrutar otras actividades y opciones divertidas que tiene la ciudad.”

Francisco recuerda que cuando recién se mudaron a esta casa, habían lugares que aún no estaban construidos, por lo que la familia fue creando estos espacios poco a poco hasta lograr la apariencia y funcionalidad que tiene ahora. Construyeron el parqueadero, el gimnasio, la zona de billar, la terraza y la zona de spa, que incluye piscina, turco y jacuzzi. “Somos una familia muy numerosa, tengo 8 hermanos y mis papás son muy longevos, mi padre por ejemplo, tiene 101 años. Y en definitiva, los momentos más significativos para mi son los que vivimos en reuniones familiares y por eso es tan valioso para nosotros compartir en nuestro hogar”.
Son muchos los espacios que disfruta de su casa, cuando invita a sus amigos comparten momentos muy agradables alrededor de las comodidades que tiene la casa, especialmente en el salón de billar y la zona de spa. La terraza también es un espacio que tiene un paisaje precioso, donde como dice Francisco: “puedes tomarte un café y tener buenas conversaciones mientras te deleitas con la vista.”
Por otro lado, “El bosque en medio del que vivimos nos permite tener el mejor clima, la altitud que tiene la hacienda es de 2.600 mts, está al mismo nivel de la ciudad de Bogotá. Es frío pero no es un frío que no sea tolerable, es un frío fácil de manejar. La hacienda tiene muchos nacimientos de agua, hay varias quebraditas, hay mucha fauna, ardillas, especies de pájaros, el más común es el sinsonte, por la mañana cuando te levantas y sales lo único que encuentras es un concierto de aves”.
Para Francisco la ubicación de Oasis de Las Palmas es perfecta, ya que cuenta con una via amplia, de fácil acceso, con centros hospitalarios y colegios bilingües como Columbus School, Theodoro Hertzl, el Vermont, entre otros.
